In the process of doing this, we learned a few things, namely that the stock stock return line is very restrictive. Tough, dependable, good or great fuel economy, simple to work on. They are excellent engines. So excellent, in fact, that I put one in my 99 Ford Superduty. <br /><br />Why not just buy a Dodge with an engine already in it ? I almost did buy a Dodge when I bought the Ford, but I wanted a true crew cab truck. The Dodge megacab trucks were not available when I did my swap, and besides my Superduty is just like new. Why sell a good thing ? <br /><br />The swap took a month of miscellaneous spare time preparation and 8 days to actually do. This picture was taken shortly after it was installed. I've still got some clean up work to do on it as well. I installed it, did the 2 micron filter and filter lid gauge and haven't looked at it much otherwise. <br /><br />I need to say a big THANKS to Marty Bursel for helping me with my swap. He swapped a 2nd gen (12Valve) into his Ford. I must have sent him a hundred emails on clutches, wiring, adapter plates, etc. and he answered them all.
